2D and Projectile Motion, Kinematics, Levers - DIY Catapults

The second unit focused on learning the basics of motion and a bit about projectile motion, introductory kinematic theories, and a deeper dive into levers and their classes. To test understanding of these concepts, students built DIY catapults and competed in-class to see who's catapult - and knowledge - would reign supreme.

Unit Picture & Slideshow Highlights:

Students learned the basics of 2D and Projectile, or free-fall, motion in this unit, as well as how to solve introductory kinematics questions. A competition with DIY catapults was held to physically demonstrate these topics.

Levers and their three different classes were also taught to the students, as the foundation of a catapult is the lever system.
