Vex IQ Competition Robotics
Derrick led teams 3088T, 3088C, and 3088R to the State Champion this year. The three teams earned the Robot Skills Champion*2, Finalist, Think, Excellence Award, and Teamwork Challenge 2nd place at regional competitions. Through their spectacular performance in the skills Challenge/high autonomous scores and Excellence Award, all three teams qualified to the State Championship, where team 3088C and 3088R continued on to place 1st divisional/overall 2nd place and 3rd place in the Teamwork Challenge at the 2025 California State Championship, qualifying them to the World Championship!

Team 3088R Lotus Root placed 7th place in Qualifiers, 3rd in Individual Skills, and 5th in the Elimination Bracket/Finals; Team 3088T Lotus placed 8th place in Qualifiers, 10th in Individual Skills, and 5th in the Elimination Bracket/Finals!

Team 3088T Lotus were awarded the distinguished Middle School Excellence Award for their dedication and outstanding performance!

At this tougher tournament, 3088T Lotus was able to reflect on their performance in their engineering notebook and as a result be qualified for the State championship.
